Subhash Ghai finds his heroine for ‘Kaanchi’


Most of the leading ladies of Subhash Ghai have one thing in common, and that’s the letter ‘M’. First it was Meenakshi Sheshadri then Madhuri Dixit, Manisha Koirala and Mahima Chaudhary. Now, the the directors next actress is Mishti, for his upcoming film Kaanchi.
After searching for almost forever, Ghai has finally found his heroine – a 21-year-old girl is from Kolkata, named Mishti, yet another name startimng with ‘M’.
“My hunt for kaanchi is over today,” said the relieved filmmaker, whose film ‘Kaanchi’ had been in news for long time now.


The director showered praises on the girl and told a daily, “More than 240 girls auditioned for the role but most were devoid of talent. The ones who were talented were not good looking. I liked her pictures and decided to call her to Mumbai. We made her go through various screen tests for six days. I must say she came out with flying colours. She is an actress of Kajol’s calibre.”
Subhash Ghai also revealed that his film Kaanchi is about the issue of differences. The film will see Rishi Kapoor as the villain, while Kartik Tiwari of Pyaar Ka Punchnaama fame has been roped in to play the male lead.
Kaanchi will hit theaters this February 18.
