Sonam Kapoor very excited about ‘Khoobsurat’ remake:

Actress Sonam Kapoor has been finalized for the remake of the 1980 film Khoobsurat. The film originally had Rekha play the female lead and won several applauds for her well essayed role. The makers of Khoobsurat remake are now in search of a palace in Rajasthan. The film will be produced by Anil Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor.

The 1980 film was set in an old bungalow. A source close to the project says, “The makers want to make the film larger than life. The scale and the stakes will be much higher than the original. They are scouting for a location in Rajasthan.”

Meanwhile, Sonam Kapoor is in for some serious acting. It is heard that the actress is taking tips and advice from Rekha, before the film goes on floors. A source said, “Rekha played a bubbly girl in the film and was amazing. Sonam is very excited to start working on this project as it was one of the finest works of Rekha. It was a blockbuster of 1980. She wants to make sure she understands the character properly and there is no one better than Rekhaji herself to guide Sonam.”

Shashanka Ghosh will reportedly be directing it.
